By now, you've probably figured out that we fancy ourselves artistic types.
We can't help it -- the need for music, art, and aesthetics burns inside of us like something wicked you might contract after a hazy night with a promiscuous stranger (not that we're judging). We grew up the outcasts, the oddballs, the kids Xeroxing punk show flyers at the local library and getting homemade tattoos in our friends' dirty garages. We never aspired to live forever, but we aspired to create something that would.
It's the music that brought us to this point, really -- our ears against the speakers, entranced, as a record spun in front of us trying to sucking us into a vortex of its energy. We went out to the shows. We fell in love with the noise and the sweat and the well-dressed strangers who smuggled whisky in under their clothes.
And out of all of us outcasts, us oddballs, us troublemakers, us offbeat artistic weirdos, there were some who felt the need to document it all, maybe to convince themselves that it was really happening.
For those who managed to capture a memory, a movement, hell, even just a moment, we created the 11/3 Gallery. Launched on July 9th, 2011 at our flagship store in Los Angeles, Gallery 11/3 features photography from local artists, available in handmade metal frames to purchase or peruse.
Clothes are what we make. Gallery 11/3 is who we are.
